What services do you offer?

Our full range of services is detailed on the Services page. We specialize in 3D scanning, reverse engineering, CAD modification, and high-performance 3D printing.

How do I get started with a project?

Simply reach out with a description of your part or project, including the challenge you’re facing and what you believe the ideal solution might be. The more details and photos you provide, the faster we can provide a quote and plan.

Do you work with individuals or only businesses?

We work with both individuals and businesses of all sizes.

What is your typical turnaround time?

  • If you already have a 3D model ready for printing, most jobs can be completed in 1–3 business days (depending on current workload and material).
  • If scanning is required, we can usually complete the scan within 1 business day after receiving the part. Shipping time is the main variable.

Do you sign NDAs or confidentiality agreements?

Yes. We are happy to sign any NDA or confidentiality agreement if your project requires it.

What objects can you scan?

We can scan a wide variety of objects — from small bike parts to large automotive panels, marine components, and more.

What is the accuracy of your 3D scans?

Our scanners (particularly the MetroY Ultra) deliver high accuracy suitable for most engineering and functional applications. We can provide specific resolution details based on your project.

How long does scanning take?

Most objects can be scanned in 10–60 minutes, depending on size and complexity. Larger or more detailed parts may require additional preparation time (such as applying scanning dots or optimizing lighting).

Do I need to send the physical part?

Yes, for 3D scanning we strongly recommend sending the physical part. If you only need printing and already have a 3D model, there is no need to send anything.

Can you scan large or delicate objects?

Yes. We have experience scanning both large and delicate items and will take every precaution to protect your part.

What materials can you print with?

A full list and comparison is available on our Materials Guide.

Which material is best for outdoor / high-heat / strong parts?

Outdoor use: ASA is typically the best choice due to its excellent UV and weather resistance.

High strength: PAHT-CF, PPA-CF, or PPS-CF offer superior mechanical performance.

For parts that need both strength and outdoor durability (e.g., car brackets), we often recommend printing in a strong CF material and applying a primer + 2K clear coat for added UV protection.

What is the maximum print size?

Approximately 350 mm cubed (based on our largest printer’s build volume).

Can you print in metal?

We do not offer in-house metal 3D printing. However, if metal is required, we can produce the optimized 3D model and send it to trusted partners for metal 3D printing or CNC machining.

Do you offer color printing?

We can do multi-color printing, but our primary focus is on functional, industrial, and performance-oriented parts rather than decorative multi-color work.

How does the process work?

Please see our dedicated Process page for a full step-by-step overview.

How do I ship my part to you?

Detailed shipping instructions are provided on the Process page after you contact us.

Do you provide return shipping?

See our return policy here.

How do you protect my original part?

We use ample protective packaging and handle all parts with care throughout the process.

What if my part is damaged during shipping?

If any printed part we send you arrives damaged due to shipping, we will provide a free replacement. Please see our policy here.

How do you charge for scanning?

We use tiered pricing based on size and complexity:

  • Small (coin to hand-sized): $35 – $85
  • Medium (up to shoebox size): $85 – $180
  • Large / Complex: $180 – $450+
  • Very Large: $400 – $1,200+ (often hourly)

How do you charge for printing?

Pricing is based on material usage and print time. Faster prints with less filament are more economical.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and other standard payment options.

Do you offer discounts for multiple parts?

Yes. We are happy to discuss volume discounts for multiple parts or ongoing projects.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. We strive for complete transparency. If we cannot accommodate a request, we will let you know upfront before any pricing is discussed.

What file formats do you accept / provide?

  • For printing: .STL, .OBJ, .3MF
  • For scan files only: .PLY, .OBJ, .3MF, .STL, .FBX, .GLTF

Can you modify my design?

Yes. We can handle minor to moderate edits in-house. For advanced CAD work, we partner with specialists.

Do I keep ownership of the scan and CAD files?

Yes. You retain full ownership of all scan data and CAD files.

Can I provide my own CAD model instead of scanning?

Absolutely. If you already have a 3D model and only need printing, we can work directly with your file.

What is your quality guarantee?

We ensure all scans are high quality and all prints are free of major defects or warping. We communicate promptly about any potential delays.

What happens if I’m not satisfied?

If you are not satisfied with the final 3D printed product, we offer a full refund. Please see full policy here.

How durable are the printed parts?

Modern engineering filaments produce parts that are significantly stronger than many people expect — often outperforming traditional injection-molded plastic in specific applications, depending on the material chosen.

Do you test parts for strength?

Yes, upon request we can perform basic strength testing or recommend appropriate materials for your load requirements.

What are the limitations of 3D printing?

FDM printing has anisotropic strength (stronger in some directions). For parts that need equal strength in all axes, metal 3D printing or CNC machining may be better. Our maximum build volume is approximately 350 mm cubed.

Can you scan transparent or shiny objects?

Yes, we can scan them successfully with proper preparation.

What is the smallest / largest part you can handle?

Smallest: Coin-sized or smaller (depending on geometry).

Largest: Limited mainly by time and budget rather than scanner capability.

Where are you located?

We are based in Tysons, Virginia.

Are you available for local pickup/drop-off?

Yes. We can usually accommodate local drop-offs and pickups by appointment.

Do you work internationally?

Yes. We are currently expanding into international markets.

What is your privacy policy?

Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
